Overview

The TPS7E71 low-dropout regulator (LDO) consumes ultra-low quiescent current (2.8μA (typ)) at no-load current. The device offers a wide input voltage range (3.0V to 30V) and wide output range (1.2V to 28V, in adjustable configuration) and supports up to 150mA of load current. The device is stable with the output capacitor range of 2.2µF to 100μF.

The low quiescent current across the complete load current range and controlled IQ in no-load dropout situations makes the TPS7E71 suitable for powering battery-operated applications. The TPS7E71 has an internal soft-start mechanism that provides a uniform start-up with controlled inrush current. This LDO also has over-current (fold-back), over-power and thermal protection during a load-short or fault condition on the output for better reliability.
