Conclusion

A switched-capacitor converter has higher efficiency and power density compared to an inductor-based converter. With the USB PPS adapter and USB Type-C connector, two 98.6% peak efficiency switched-capacitor converters used in a battery charging system enable 120 W of fast charging with as little as 15 minutes of charging time, greatly improving the user experience.
