8.2.1 Design 1: Off-Battery Monitoring

This application is intended for the initial power stage in applications with the 48V batteries. Variation of the battery voltage is common from 40V to 55V. Furthermore, load transients can cause voltage spikes up to 100V. This design example highlights the ability for low-power, direct off-battery voltage supervision with capabilities to handle 100V transients.

Figure 8-1 shows an example of how the TPS37100 is monitoring the battery voltage while being powered by the same rail.
