TNETD3000C ADSL Chipset for Central Office Applications

Announced in 1998, TI's third generation ADSL CO chipset, the TNETD3000C, offers a solid foundation for OEMs looking to implement highly-programmable ADSL solutions. The chipset, which includes all of the necessary functionality to implement any combination of two full-rate or G.lite ADSL modems, provides designers the following features:
  • High performance, overlap/non-overlap architecture
  • Proven interoperability
  • Maximum programmability
  • Standards compliant: ITU G.992.1 (T1.413i2, G.dmt) and G.992.2 (G.lite, UADSL)
  • Utopia Level 2 support with integrated ATM transmission convergence (TC)

At the heart of the TNETD3000C chipset is the power of TI's TMS320C6000 DSP technology, which provides an incredible amount of processing power for DSL modems.

The TNETD3000C chipset components include:

  • TNETD3100 Universal Digital Interface has framing support for two ADSL modems. This digital interface incorporates Utopia Level 2 support and ATM TC, as well as the standard programmable serial interfaces. Integrated interleaved memory reduces chip count.
  • TNETD3200 ADSL Transceiver is based on the powerful 'C6000 DSP core and is fully programmable for added flexibility. Power consumption has been kept at a minimum.
  • TNETD2021 ADSL Codec is an ADSL-over-POTS codec on a single, mixed-signal front-end. It meets all of the conversion and filtering requirements of ANSI's T1.413i2 and the ITU's G.lite specifications.
  • THS6012 Central Office Line Driver contains two high-speed drivers capable of providing a minimum of 400 mA output current into a 25-Ohm load.
  • THS7002 Central Office Line Receiver not only provides line receive functionality, but also has an integrated programmable gain amplifier (PGA).
