Overview

Light-emitting diode (LED) drivers and LED power supply units are used across a wide range of indoor and outdoor LED luminaires. The power supplies focus on meeting criteria for efficiency, power factor (PF), total harmonic distortion (THD), emission, thermal management and specific standards such as UL, EN and IEC.

Design requirements:

    Modern LED power supply designs require:

  • Several options for dimming that are integrated in LED drivers including wireless connectivity.
  • Many drivers programmable for setting the voltage, current limits and dimming options.
  • Reference designs that demonstrate ways to implement simple and efficient LED driver power supplies as well as innovative features such as wireless connectivity.
