Overview

The LM5171EVM-BIDIR evaluation module (EVM) is a dual-phase interleaved bidirectional converter ideal for 48V to 12V dual battery system applications. It is multiphase stackable with adjustable interleaving angle and balanced current sharing. The EVM also includes various jumpers to configure the circuit for many different use cases. This includes the capability of being controlled by a microcontroller or a high-power unidirectional buck or boost converter.

Features
  • 12V port voltage regulated at 14.5V with 48V port voltage range of 6V to 70V in buck mode
  • 48V port voltage regulated at 50.5V with 12V port voltage range of 6V to 48V in boost mode
  • DC current (max) into or out of the 12V port is 60A
  • Built-in analog voltage loop control, with option of a microcontroller digital-voltage loop-control through interface connectors
  • Daisy-chain multiphase interleaved three, four, six and eight phase operation to support higher power
