The LP5523 is a fully integrated lighting management unit for producing lighting effects for mobile devices. The LP5523 includes all necessary power management, high-side current sources, temperature compensation, two wire (I2C compatible) control interface and programmable pattern generators. The overall maximum current for each driver is set by an 8-bit register. The LP5523 controls LED luminance with a pulse width modulation (PWM) scheme.

The LP5523 Evaluation Module is based on a computer controlled system, where the LP5523 device is controlled and powered through the USB interface. Also, external power can be used if needed. Two different sets of LEDs can be selected, either white LEDs or RGB LEDs.
