Optimizing Efficiency of Switching Mode Chargers

00:24:02 | 05 NOV 2014

Over the course of this video, you will develop an understanding of the key parameters of a MOSFET and the relationship to power loss of a switching charger. This will cover conduction, switch and gate drive losses as well as how inductor selection affects loss. Comparisons will be made between current sensing resistance and losses incurred and finally we will go through a loss analysis using an existing charger EVM design.

This module will help to develop a key understanding of how to design more efficient switch mode chargers and of the key factors affecting those chargers, why and how these result in losses.
