Mastering Common Mode Transient Immunity (CMTI) for Isolated Gate Drivers

00:19:24 | 09 MAY 2018

As next generation power switches develop, i.e. SiC and GaN, systems need higher switching frequency/density. Using these advancements can sacrifice system robustness since these new power semiconductors can have over twice the dv/dt and over 5x the di/dt during turn on/turn off relative to conventional switches.

This video:

  • Explains these challenges with bench waveform measurement comparison
  • Identifies isolated gate driver benefits
  • Deep dives dv/dt (CMTI) and di/dt for isolated gate drivers
