Luminance contrast ratio, or LCR, can be used to determine how visible an automotive display is. LCR is a function of 3 variables: projector light, ambient light transmitted through the display, and ambient light reflected off the display. Factors such as film efficiency, projector output, and the environmental ambient light will have an effect on the LCR.
