Voltage probing, aka ditch the alligator clip

In this lecture, we will learn:
  • The inductance of the measurement loop can introduce high-frequency measurement artifacts in sensed waveforms.
  • High di/dt signals can couple magnetically to the measurement loop also.
  • Ground probes close to the test point and use ground springs instead of alligator clips when possible.
