Extended security features in TPS546D24S and TPSM8S6C24

00:11:13 | 29 JAN 2024

Digital interfacing in power electronics is becoming an increasingly popular method for design engineers to dynamically monitor their power systems. This rise in popularity, however, comes with increasing vulnerability to digital security risks.

The TPS546D24S buck converter family and TPSM8S6C24 buck module features Texas Instrument's first PMBus step-down regulators with extended security commands. Using additional write-protection and passkey commands, design engineers will now be able to configure varying levels of security settings, from open to permanent and total write-lock.
