Thermal considerations for switching regulators

This presentation discusses system requirements on thermals and power and discusses how it is related to Safety Operating Area of Buck converters. Then it develops and provides an insight into the thermal performance optimization of high-power density buck converters. It shares several design implementations of step-down converter in a standard HotRod™ WQFN package. Finally, we introduce a newly developed thermally enhanced package.
