Standby Mode

The device supports a low-power standby mode in which only part of the circuit is powered down. The analog front-end, signal-conditioning circuit for each channel remains powered down in this mode, but the internal reference and regulator are not powered down. In standby mode, the total power consumption of the device is typically equal to 19 mW.

In order to enter standby mode, the STBY input pin must be set to logic low and the RANGE input pin must be set to a logic high value. The device can be asynchronously put into this mode by configuring the STBY and RANGE inputs at any time during device operation.

The device exits standby mode when a logic high input is applied to the STBY pin. At this time, the internal circuitry starts powering up and takes a minimum time of 100 µs to settle before the next conversion can be initiated. See the Timing Requirements: Exit Standby ModeTiming Requirements: Exit Standby Mode table and Figure 6-8 for timing details.
