To protect the switching FET, diode, and output capacitors during an output open-circuit event, OVP is used. The overvoltage trip point is set to 62 V with 3 V of hysteresis. First, ROV2 (R6) is calculated to determine the hysteresis, and then ROV1 (R13) is calculated for the correct trip point using the following equations:
The standard values of R6 = 150 kΩ and R13 = 3.01 kΩ are used.
