Description

The abundance of LED lighting systems worldwide makes LED lighting an ideal place to add intelligent sensing as part of the Internet of Things(IoT). The use of sensors and wired or wireless connectivity in lighting systems enables improved energy efficiency and enhanced occupant comfort.

  • When added to lighting systems, occupancy sensors enable daylight harvesting which leads to greater energy efficiency by dimming or turning off light when the area is unoccupied or when the ambient light level is sufficient
  • Smart cities may leverage outdoor lighting sensors to gather data such as temperature, humidity, acoustics, air pollution level, traffic condition and more
  • Single-chip mmWave sensors bring a paradigm shift to motion sensing technology by providing more data with higher accuracy enabling smart cities and buildings
