Tomorrow’s innovative air conditioner outdoor systems need to operate as quiet as possible with the highest energy efficiency, and achieve greater system reliability to last longer. To achieve annual performance factor (APF) rankings, many residential air conditioner outdoor systems are designed with advanced inverter technology for compressor and fan motor control and drive, and use highly efficient active power factor correction (PFC) technology and bias AC/DC power supply design.

New ductless air conditioners rely on very reliable communication between outdoor system and indoor systems, including different communication bus and protocols such as isolated & non-polarity RS485 and home bus.

Our tested TI Designs reference designs for residential air conditioners are based on the most advanced motor drive and control semiconductors and analog technologies that provide higher energy efficiency, easier thermal management, lower acoustics, and reliable communication.
