This device supports synchronous Output Enable (OE). Synchronous OE means there is no glitch on the outputs when OE signal is asserted or deasserted.
Table 7-7 shows the enabling and disabling outputs through pin configuration and I2C. Note that the OE pin must be low and OE bit must be "1" for the output to be active by default. The output enable bits are OUTAB_EN (R7[1]) and OUTCD_EN (R7[8]).
