Port Configuration

The TUSB2514B port configurations can be selected by registers. The Port Used Configuration Register defines how many ports can be reported by the hub. Ports may be disabled by pulling the DP/PRT_DIS_Pn and DM/PRT_DIS_Mn high and are sampled upon the deassertion of GRST#.

The TUSB2514B downstream ports can also be configured for either removable or non-removable based on the sampled state of the NON_REMn pins. HS_SUSPEND/NON_REM0 pin can be either active low or active high output as detailed in the table below.

Table 6-4 Non-removable Configuration
NON_REM1 NON_REM0 Descriptions
0 0 All downstream ports are removable. HS_SUSPEND is active high.
0 1 Port 1 is non-removable. Remaining ports are removable. HS_SUSPEND is active low.
1 0 Ports 1 and 2 are non-removable. Remaining ports are removable. HS_SUSPEND is active high.
1 1 Ports 1, 2, and 3 are non-removable. Remaining ports are removable. HS_SUSPEND is active low.

The Device Removable Configuration Register defines if the ports that are reported as used have permanently connected devices or not.
