5.21 Controller and Target I2C Interface Timing Requirements

(1) Meets all I2C timing per the I2C bus specification (except for capacitive loading as specified). For reference, see Version 2.1 of the Phillips-NXP specification.
(2) By definition, I2C transactions operate at the speed of the slowest device on the bus. Full-speed operation requires all other I2C devices on the bus support full-speed operation. The length of the line (due to its capacitance), as well as the value of the I2C pullup resistors, can reduce the obtainable clock rate.
