8.2 Typical Application

The following image illustrates a simplified schematic of a traction inverter. The AMC0381R-Q1 is used for DC bus voltage sensing. In the power domain, the AMC0381R-Q1 is connected directly between DC(+) and DC(–). The low-side gate driver supply is regulated to a 5V level to power the high-voltage side of the AMC0381R-Q1. In the signal domain, on the opposite side of the isolation barrier, the AMC0381R-Q1 outputs a voltage proportional to the DC bus voltage.
