Conclusion

Isolated, in-package Hall-effect sensors have always played a role in high-voltage systems, but steep trade-offs in respect to sensor accuracy, drift, and isolation capability have limited their performance.

Combining 600-V lifetime working voltages with low sensitivity and offset drift enables the TMCS1100 and TMCS1101 devices to deliver significantly higher performance in a simplified implementation. These advancements enable the TMCS1100 family of Hall-effect current sensors to make a significant impact on the performance of high-voltage systems for motors, process control, distributed sensor networks, and power converters.
