1.8 MSP430 Architecture Overview

The MSP family has the following architectures:

  • MSP430 has 16-bit CPU registers and a 16-bit address space.
  • MSP430X has 20-bit CPU registers and a 20-bit address space. It is object-code compatible with MSP430.

Memory is little-endian only on MSP devices.
