7.4.4 Pass-Through Mode

When the input voltage is higher than VOUT + 0.1V and VOUT is higher than the nominal output voltage, the device automatically enters pass-through mode. In pass-through mode, the high-side FET is fully turned on and the low-side switch is turned off. The output voltage follows the input with the drop caused by the inductor resistance and the high-side FET resistance.
