9.3 System Examples

The TPS26742E-Q1 supports USB-PD charging in the extended power range (EPR) for two USB-C ports.

When a system has more than two USB-C ports, connecting multiple TPS26742E-Q1 together via I2C allows one of them to act as the system power management (SPM) controller, while the others act as targets.

The TPS26742E-Q1 is capable to provide access to an external MCU to allow it to monitor status and control certain behaviors and configurations through the I2C1 port.

Connecting the Px_LQD pins of the TPS26742E-Q1 to one of SBU1, SBU2, D+ or D- on the USB-C receptacle it to perform liquid detection and implement corrosion mitigation to protect the USB-C connector.
