Output Discharge

The TPS63820 and TPS638201 provide an active pull down current to quickly discharge output when the EN pin is logic low or the ENABLE bit is set to 0 when EN_DISCHG bit is 1. The output discharge function makes the power on and off sequencing smooth. Pay attention to the output discharge function if use this device in applications such as power multiplexing, because the output discharge circuitry creates a constant current path between the multiplexer output and the ground.

The output discharge function is controlled by the bit named EN_DISCHG.

When EN_DISCHG is set to 1, the TPS63820 and TPS638201 also provide discharge current when VIN UVLO falling threshold is triggered. The discharge circuit works until VIN falls to around 1V.
