6.3.14 Input Overvoltage Protection

The TPS55285A has input overvoltage protection, which avoids any damage to the device in case the current flows from the output to the input and the input source is not able to sink current in FPWM mode. When the input voltage at the VIN pin is detected above 22.5V typically, the internal soft-start circuit is reset but all internal registers values remain unchanged when VIN OVP is triggered. The converter automatically restarts when the input voltage drops the hysteresis value lower than the input overvoltage protection threshold.
