7.3.2 Compliance Test Modes

Use these register settings to achieve the same performance as observed during compliance testing.

the DP83TC812-Q1 supports all four PMA compliance test modes required in IEEE 802.3bw, sub-clause 96.5.2. These compliance test modes include:

  • Transmitter waveform power spectral density (PSD) mask
  • Amplitude
  • Distortion
  • 100BASE-T1 Leader jitter
  • 100BASE-T1 Follower jitter
  • Droop
  • Transmitter frequency
  • Frequency tolerance
  • Return loss
  • Mode conversion

Use any of the three GPIOs to output TX_TCLK for the 100BASE-T1 Follower jitter measurement. For routing TX_TCLK to CLKOUT pin for 100BASE-T1 Follower Jitter measurement, write to register 0x045F = 0x000D. Configure the device in Follower mode.
