Circuit breaker (ACB, MCCB, VCB)
Circuit breaker (ACB, MCCB, VCB)
Overview
Our integrated circuits and reference designs help you protect your grid assets by creating circuit breakers that rapidly detect faults, reliably communicate via wired and wireless interfaces and efficiently generate power from the line. The following subsystems will help you quickly design an industrial circuit breaker (air (ACB), molded case (MCCB), or vacuum (VCB)) to better protect loads during overloads or short-circuit situations.
Design requirements:
Modern circuit breaker (ACB, MCCB, VCB) designs often require:
- Accurate sensing of wide-input current, voltage and temperature.
- Fast startup for rapid fault identification.
- Reliable wired or wireless communication interfaces.
