Fault indicator (FI)

Block diagram

Overview

Our integrated circuits and reference designs help you create fault indicators for overhead and underground power lines that reduce the time needed to localize the fault in medium- and low-voltage transmission lines

Design requirements

Next-generation fault indicators often require:

  • Power-optimized architectures for fault data capture and power quality analysis.
  • Energy harvesting at low-current levels and optimized battery management.
  • Low-power RF connectivity with minimal latency to transfer faults to a data collector.
