Overview

The ADS8688 evaluation module (EVM) performance demonstration kit (PDK) is an platform for evaluating the ADS8588 product. The ADS8688 is an 8-channel integrated data acquisition system based on a 16-Bit SAR ADC.

The evaluation kit includes the ADS8688 evaluation board, precision host interface (PHI) controller board, and accompanying computer software that enables the user to communicate with the ADC over a universal serial bus (USB), capture data, and perform data analysis.

  • Includes support circuitry as a design example to match ADC performance.
  • Serial interface header for easy connection to SDCC Controller Card.
  • Integrated 4.096V voltage reference.
  • Bipolar (±10.24 V, ±5,12 V, ±2.56 V ) or unipolar (0 to 10.24V, 0 to 5.12V) input ranges for each channel.
  • Onboard 2nd Order Butterworth Low Pass filters for 4 channels.
  • Includes hardware and software required for diagnostic testing, as well as accurate performance evaluation of the ADS8688 ADC
  • No external power supply required
  • Ships with PHI controller board, which provides convenient interface to the EVM over USB 2.0 (or higher) for power delivery and digital interface
  • Easy-to-use evaluation software for Windows® 7/8/10 64-bit operating systems; software suite includes graphical tool for data capture and analysis
  • Bipolar (±10.24 V, ±5,12 V, ±2.56 V ) or unipolar (0 to 10.24V, 0 to 5.12V) input ranges for each channel.

  2. Download EVM user's guide for installation instructions
  3. Download and install ADS8688EVM GUI Software
  4. Connect EVM To PC
  5. Run EVM GUI Software
  6. Configure device to desired mode of operation, or use presets or default
  7. Take measurements
