Overview

The DRV8461 EVM evaluation module showcases the features and performance of the DRV8461DDWR.

The DRV8461 is a fully integrated stepper motor driver for industrial applications. The device operates over a 4.5-V to 65-V supply range and is capable of driving up to 3-A full scale current.

Features
  • Integrated current sensing
  • Silent step, smart tune and low-noise decay modes
  • Automatic microstepping and custom microstepping table with STEP/DIR with SPI option, and up to 1/256 microstepping
  • Stall detection to detect end of travel
  • Auto torque to modify output current based on load demand
  • Fully protected: UVLO, OCP, TSD, open load, nFAULT pin
ESD protection diodes
TPD2E001 — Dual 1.5-pF, 5.5-V, ±8-kV ESD protection diode with 1-nA max leakage & VCC pin for USB 2.0

 

Linear & low-dropout (LDO) regulators
TPS735 — 500-mA, low-IQ, low-dropout voltage regulator with enable

 

Stepper motor drivers
