Isolated Current & Voltage Measurement Using Fully Differential Isolation Amplifier Reference Design

TIDA-00555 demonstrates the use of AMC1100, a fully differential isolation amplifier, as an analog front end to measure voltage and current. It demonstrates measurement of voltage inputs in an input-to-output isolation configuration and current inputs in a channel-to-channel isolation configuration. It includes power isolation, which makes capable of measuring isolated voltages and currents. This design can be used in applications that require replacing current transformers (CTs) with shunts. Shunts and potential dividers are provided onboard to directly connect current and voltage inputs.

  • Onboard shunt and potential divider provided for easier interface
  • Input signal conditioned using isolation amplifier (fully differential) with fixed gain, high common-mode rejection ratio and very low nonlinearity
  • Three current input channels are galvanically isolated
  • Three voltage input channels share a single isolated power supply
  • Current accuracy performance < ±0.5%
  • Voltage accuracy performance < ±0.5%
