Description
This reference design provides the drive and control circuits for motor-driven applications such as automotive power seats, using both bi-directional and unidirectional motor drives. It demonstrates how to drive brushed DC motors with a small board footprint, a high degree of robustness and full diagnostic features. The design illustrates solutions for adding motor-driven comfort and convenience options, as well as replacing relay-based circuits with smarter full-featured devices.

- Bi-directional drive for brushed DC motors - 30-A peak with external FETs and 10-A peak with integrated FETs
- Unidirectional drive for lumbar pump and valve
- Multiplexed current sense signals from all motors
- Reverse battery and load dump protection

Both PCB footprints and schematic symbols are available for download in a vendor neutral format, which can then be exported to the leading EDA CAD/CAE design tools using the Ultra Librarian Reader. The reader is available as a (free download.).
The UL Reader is a subset of the Ultra Librarian toolset that can generate, import, and export components and their attributes in virtually any EDA CAD/CAE format.
