This reference design highlights the capabilities of our CC2640 Wireless MCU and RF430 NFC transponder in enabling the Internet of Things (IoT) for Industrial test equipment. It demonstrates Bluetooth® low energy connectivity between the CC2640 and an Android™ device, as well as automated pairing using NFC. This design enables Android devices to interface with the TIDA-01012 wireless DMM (WDMM) reference design and illustrates how the human-machine interface can be easily enhanced, adding meaningful features and significantly lowering product costs associated with metering using our wireless connectivity solutions.

  • Replaces the input and output user interface subsystem of WDMM with an Android device, which minimizes board size and cost
  • Enables BLE connectivity between CC2640 and Android
  • Automated BLE pairing using NFC dynamic interface
  • Graphical display provides ability to graph AC and DC measurements vs time
  • Available source code makes it easy for developers to create their own app for wireless meters
  • This design provides fundamental development theories to guide users through source code generation and optimization, and includes sample source code, testing, and getting started guide.
