Automotive External Amplifier

Automotive external amplifier integrated circuits and designs

Description

When sound requirements exceed the capabilities of the standard vehicle head unit, an automotive qualified external amplifier can be added to increase the channel count and power of the system. Often located in the trunk or rear of the vehicle, these external amplifiers enable a premium audio implementation to meet the highest performance standards and power. TI helps automotive developers and aftermarket manufacturers to create high performance audio solutions by providing:

  • Applications processors with digital signal processing (DSP) functionality to implement sophisticated signal processing algorithms
  • High efficiency, low EMI, wide- Vin and mid-Vin power management devices to reduce heat and radio interference
  • Low noise LDOs to regulate and filter power to reduce noise in sensitive analog devices
  • Advanced current and temperature sensing devices to monitor amplifier conditions and improve circuit protection
  • Low noise, low distortion audio ADCs, DACs and op amps
  • Highly efficient Class-D Amplifiers for powerful high quality sound, low energy consumption and a space-saving solution size
