SafeTI™–26262

 

ISO 26262 is a functional safety standard for automotive road vehicles which was published in November 2011. This standard is applied to electrical and electronic safety-related systems installed in production passenger vehicles with a maximum gross vehicle mass up to 3,500kg

Examples of target automotive applications needing to meet this standard include:

  • Steering
  • Braking and Chassis Control
  • Transmission
  • Powertrain
  • HEV/EV Battery Management
  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
  • Body

SafeTI-26262 design packages for functional safety include components developed according to the ISO 26262:2011 standard targeting automotive safety integrity levels (ASILs) A to D. These design packages enable manufacturers of road vehicle electrical and electronic systems to achieve faster and easier system certification.

TI is a member of US and International working groups for ISO 26262. In addition, TI leads the ISO 26262 semiconductor subgroup.

For SafeTI-26262 products, component level ASIL capability is noted. Achieved ASIL per safety goal will vary based on customer implementation. Products from other SafeTI categories which are not compliant to ISO 26262 may be usable as QM components in ISO 26262 compliant system designs. Determination of suitability for use in ISO 26262 system designs is the responsibility of the system designer.
