Configuring Boot Arguments

Linux requires boot arguments to identify the root filesystem location and the initial process to execute.

Configure the boot arguments as follows.

setenv bootargs 'console=ttyS2,115200n8 earlycon=ns16550a,mmio32,0x02880000 ubi.mtd=ospi.rootfs root=ubi0:rootfs rootfstype=ubifs rw init=/init'

The key parameters are listed below.

Table 7-1 Key Parameters
Parameter Description
console=ttyS2,115200n8 Linux console output
earlycon=ns16550a,... Early boot debug messages
ubi.mtd=ospi.rootfs Attach the UBI device from the OSPI rootfs partition
root=ubi0:rootfs Use the rootfs UBI volume as the root filesystem
rootfstype=ubifs root filesystem type
rw Mount root filesystem read/write
init=/init Execute the custom initialization script
