The frequency can be significantly higher and lower than the typical frequency. The frequency is determined by the conditions the device operates in. Maintaining VOUT has the highest priority and can influence switching frequency. In the range between power save mode and pulse width modulation mode there is no constant frequency but a spectral mix with components up to 5MHz.
