Detailed Design Procedure

When designing with the LMK6Bx, the first step is to select the correct configuration based on your requirements. The OPN selected determines the output type, pins 1 and 2 functions, output frequency, frequency stability, and package type. Refer to Section 4 for more details.

The LMK6Bx differential oscillator has AC-LVPECL, LVDS, HS-LVDS, LP-HCSL, and Custom Swing output type options. Use the proper AC or DC termination based on the application requirement as shown in Section 8.3.4. The LMK6Bx has output enable, standby, or frequency select options for pins 1 and 2. Refer to Section 8.3.3 for more information on each pin and function. The LMK6Bx has integrated LDOs and excellent PSRR performance as shown in Electrical Characteristics. Add a 0.1μF and 1μF to the VDD pin to achieve best performance. Follow Section 9.4 for more power supply pin recommendations and Section 9.5 for best board layout practices when designing with the LMK6Bx.
