Description
This reference design provides a cost-optimized solution for 10 to 100 Mbps using the low-power Ethernet physical layer (PHY) DP83825 supporting 150-m reach over CAT5e cable which is beyond the standard Ethernet distance limitation of 100 m (328 feet). This design also demonstrates power delivery over Ethernet cable along with data communication using IEEE802.3at Type-1 (13 W) PoE-PD TPS23755 device with integrated primary side regulated flyback DC/DC controller. This reference design is pre-compliance tested for radiated emissions, ESDs and EFTs.

- Efficient power delivery system via PoE using IEEE802.3at Type-1 PoE-PSE and PoE-PD
- Pre-compliance tested for radiated emission requirement: CISPR22/EN55022 - meets Class A and B limits; FCC Part 15 - meets Class A and B limits
- Pre-compliance tested for conducted immunity requirements: ±12-kV contact discharge and ±15-kV air discharge ESD IEC 61000-4-2 - meets criterion B; ±2-kV IO capacitive coupling EFT per IEC 61000-4-4 - meets criterion B
- External isolation transformer with common-mode choke on PHY side for improved EMI and EMC performance
- Programmable LED support for link and activity
