Solving power efficiency and integration design challenges with C2000™ MCUs in onboard chargers

01:04:50 | 10 DEC 2021
With the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) growing, OEMs want to provide a wide range of charging options to consumers. That means Tier 1 automakers need to support a wide range of power levels for the onboard charger and increasingly support the integration of functions such as high voltage-to low-voltage DC/DC conversion in a combined charger unit. In this presentation, I will review various power stages used in EVs and discuss how C2000™ real-time microcontrollers can help solve common design challenges in different power levels and powertrain integration options. I will also share usable reference design examples that can help EV designers improve power efficiency and accelerate time to market.
