7.4 Device Functional Modes

Table 7-1 lists the functional modes of the SN74AC596-Q1. Outputs QA – QH are open-drain. Open-drain outputs drive low when in the low (L) state, and enter the high-impedance (Z) state when set to the high (H) state.
