Figure 8-5 shows the OPA928 configured as a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) for a low-light photodiode. TIAs are needed to amplify the light-dependent current of the photodiode. In low-light conditions, photodiodes produce a very small current and ultra-low input bias current and large gain in excess of 109 V/A is required.
