ON State Input Current

The current into the inputs is defined in the electrical characteristics table for input voltages from 1.5V to 5V. At higher voltages, this leakage increases, and the input current is estimated using the approximate clamp voltage for the overshoot-protection diode of 6.4V. Equation 2 shows how to approximate input current for input voltages greater than 6.4V:

Equation 2. I I N ( O N )   =     V I N 1   M   +   V I N   -   6.4   V 50   k

where

  • VIN is the input voltage
  • 1MΩ is the input pull-down resistance
  • 50kΩ is the input series resistance
  • 6.4V is the approximate clamp voltage for the OVP diode
