2 Types of DMA

The CDD DMA driver supports three transfer types, controlled by the EB Tresos parameter Cdd_Dma_TransType. Each type targets a different data-movement scenario.

A DMA system can:

  • Handle different types of transfers (memory-to-memory, peripheral-to-memory, and so forth)
  • Automatically chain operations: when one transfer completes, the next one starts
  • Notify the CPU through interrupts, based on configuration
  • Manage multiple concurrent channels efficiently
