The jumper settings on the DAC90802EVM are crucial to the proper operation of the evaluation module. The EVM provides a single configurable header (J10) with a shunt jumper (SH-J) that allows selection of the reference voltage supplied to the device through a gain amplifier (U2). Four selectable reference voltage options are available: 5V, 10V, 15V, and 20V. The jumper position determines which reference voltage is applied to the DAC device. Table 3-4 summarizes the jumper configuration options.
The default jumper placement is at pins 7-8 for 5V reference voltage. Select only one jumper position at a time. Power off the EVM before changing the jumper configuration. After reconfiguring, verify the selected reference voltage at test point TP1 before applying input signals to the device. Figure 2-2 shows the default jumper settings.
| JUMPER | PINS | REFERENCE VOLTAGE | DESCRIPTION |
|---|---|---|---|
| SH-J | 7-8(J10) | 5V |
Default configuration; selects 5V reference voltage to the device through gain amplifier U2 |
| SH-J | 5-6(J10) | 10V |
Selects 10V reference voltage to the device through gain amplifier U2 |
| SH-J | 3-4(J10) | 15V |
Selects 15V reference voltage to the device through gain amplifier U2 |
| SH-J | 3-4(J10) | 20V |
Selects 20V reference voltage to the device through gain amplifier U2 |
