The AMC-AMP-VI-EVM has many hardware features, allowing the user to access and assess the EVM from many points in the signal chain. The default configuration is one 1mΩ shunt populated at R6 to sense ±50A applications. Descriptions of the numbered sections in Figure 2-1 are listed below:
- Power Pads – J1 and J2 are for voltage monitoring. Current monitoring is done through the shunt located between J2 and J3.
- Via Stitching – helps to distribute the heat generated by the shunt resistor.
- Current Shunt - 1mΩ, ±1% tolerance shunt resistor for accurate current sensing. The AMC-AMP-VI-EVM PCB is not designed for more than ±70A.
- AMC0302R - Precision ±50mV-input reinforced isolated amplifier with ratiometric single-ended output
- RES60A - Automotive 1400V matched thin-film resistor divider with 12.5MΩ fixed input
- AMC4330R – Precision ±1V-input reinforced isolated amplifier with ratiometric single-ended output
- J5 EVM Power Input – apply 5V source to power the EVM
- J4 Isolated Voltage and Current Amplifier outputs – these are the output terminals for the AMC0302R and AMC4330R
- Various test points - refer to Section 2.3 for details
