TI's humidity sensors are shipped in sealed anti-static tape and reel cavities. The sensors can be stored in a humidity and temperature-controlled environment after being removed from the tape and reel cavity prior to assembly. The humidity and temperature controlled environment should not exceed conditions of 50%RH and 25°C, respectively. If those conditions are exceeded, RH drift can be introduced into the sensor. In addition, TI's humidity sensors should be stored in metallized anti-static sealable bags. Storage temperature and humidity limitations are defined by the moisture sensitivity level (MSL) of the sensor. For more information, see MSL Ratings and Reflow Profiles.
Do not store the humidity sensors within anti-static polyethylene bags or packing materials (pink foam/wrap), as these materials emit gases that can affect the sensor. TI recommends metallized, anti-static sealable bags for storage. Do not use adhesives or tape inside the storage container as outgassing can degrade the polymer as well. Avoid exposure to extreme temperature and humidity conditions during storage and handling, which can affect sensor accuracy. Avoid long direct exposure to ultraviolet (UV) and visible light, as the exposure can affect sensor accuracy.
