Overview

Our integrated circuits and reference designs will help you jumpstart your currency counter project through sensors able to detect the inherent characteristics of banknotes and coins, an efficient power management design and precise motor control.

Design requirements

    Modern currency counter designs require:

  • Ultraviolet, infrared and magnetic sensing are the typical detection techniques used today to verify the inherent characteristics of banknotes.
  • CIS/CCD AFE to capture the banknote images to enable the recognition of denomination, serial number and other aspects of each note.
  • Two stepper motors control the feed wheel and one brushed DC controls the gate.
  • PMICs provide the currency counter with a solution to generate and regulate core, memory and IO power.
